Things to do in Vancouver and the Lower Mainland this week! | Aug 10 - 15

Lots of events and activities happening around Vancouver and the Lower Mainland this week, so we selected five that stood out to us that we think our audience would find interest in checking out!

From weekend-only pop-ups, to month-long events, we're going to share five things you can check out to keep your week and weekends fun and exciting; despite the pandemic!

Already started on Saturday, August 8, running until Labour Day on Monday, September 7th, is Pride in Chinatown MMXX (2020) celebrating local artists and their street-art projects happening throughout Chinatown.

They've opted to hit the streets rather than pivoting to the online world with new site-inspired artworks from the queer pan-Asian diaspora, who will be covering hoardings, windows, doorways, storefronts, laneways, utility poles and boxes, and monuments.

Come through to one of the best patio locations in the city to enjoy barbecue and drinks with some amazing live music from local artists, DJ's, and performers.

This started on July 25, 2020, and is running every Saturday from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. every Saturday until August 29, 2020!

This Saturday, August 15, is Pride Edition featuring ra / sol & DJ ANGLE. "There’s a new queer hangout in town!"

The annual Sunflower festival is back! Time to capture those Instagram-worthy pictures in eight acres of beautiful sunflowers and dahlias. Then, enjoy a fresh and perfect sunflower for your home bouquet!

The most unorthodox car show and meet-up you'll ever go to... but it's one heck of a time!

Mingle with customers, share stories about your car, enjoy a flight of cider, go on a hay ride through the sunflower patch, pick some goji berries, and so much more! Check it out this Sunday, August 16 at the Taves Estate Cidery!

Be one of the 50 people participating in a late-night rave hike! Yeup, you heard it, a hike rave, happening from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. CDC guidelines will be followed; so yeah, while it is a party, social distance, wear a mask, and stay safe while having fun!

Here's what it looked like in the past!
