Things to do in Vancouver and the Lower Mainland this week! | Aug. 31 - Sep. 7

August ends, well... today! September is on our doorstep, which means a new season is among us!

It's the first week of September, so we have one last long weekend before work starts again and the kids go back to school (whether that's physically or online).

To help you get the last bit of fun out of your system, here is a list of events that you, your friends, and your loved ones can go to for a great time!

Credits to the City of Maple Ridge.

Maple Ridge has their Summer Happenings program involving drive-in movies hanging on until September 12!

This happens after Saturday at approximately 9:00 p.m. and the price of admission is $5 only!

Registration is required, and to see the full the schedule, click here!

You've got a few chances left to experience Playland this weekend!

Upcoming Playland Hours of Operation:

• Saturday, September 5: 11am-5pm & 6-11pm • Sunday, September 6: 11am-5pm & 6-11pm • Monday, September 7: 11am-5pm

Enjoy your favourite rides at Vancouver's main theme park while staying safe! They've got limited rides running, but the list is still awesome.

*Face coverings will be required in all queue lines and on rides.

This Friday and Saturday, enjoy Japanese culture in Burnaby through a selection of your favourite Matsuri food, vendors, and local artisans.

Pass by and grab a bite at one of their Japanese cuisine-inspired food trucks, the Nikkei National Museum Gift Shop, the Nikkei Centre Japanese Book Store, and so much more!

They will have safety precautions set in place to make sure everyone is enjoying safely. We strongly recommend booking in advanced because walk-in tickets will be limited!

The iconic Van Dop Gallery will be hosting A New Art Experience at the Braid Street Studios this Saturday from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Spend your afternoon touring, and even purchasing some beautiful, fine pieces of art from Trudy Van Dop's incredible collection.

Reserve your time slot and attend the show for free! To reserve your time this Saturday, check it out here!

Still Moon Arts Society is hosting their 18th Annual Renfrew Ravine Moon Festival this September! The festival will look a bit different in comparison to past events, but many of the usual events and activities will be offered in an altered form.

All in-person events require pre-registration. For those who are unable to attend in person, many events will be available online via live stream and video.
