Things to do in Vancouver and the Lower Mainland this week! | Sep. 21 - Sep. 27

Fall is right around the corner (literally tomorrow), and with the seasons changing, so do the events and activities around the city.


It's been a weird and challenging year, but there have been positives and bright spots in everything that has happened. Small, local businesses are still pushing great events and activities for families and friends to enjoy, restaurants have pivoted to serve you your favourite foods, and attractions have changed their style of consumption to fit the new normal.


With all that being said, the Fall season is here, and some exciting events and activities are here this week and weekend to keep you engaged and upbeat with this new normal.

1. VANCOUVER INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL



The biggest annual celebration of cinema in British Columbia is HERE. The Vancouver International Film Festival is here from September 24th until October 7th.

2. FALL FESTIVAL AT THE MAAN FARMS

3. RIVERFEST 2020



The FRDC is excited to announce the return of RiverFest for its 18th year! Presented by the Port of Vancouver, RiverFest is a FREE family-friendly festival taking place on the 26th and 27th of September, and a great way to celebrate the arrival of fall along the beautiful Fraser River!


RiverFest will be celebrated with a mixture of in-person hands-on activities, nature workshops celebrating the Fraser River, and online musical performances that can be enjoyed from the comfort of your own home!

4. THE BRENTWOOD GREAT TAKEOUT



Craving delicious, comfort food? The Brentwood Great Takeout is on this Saturday at 2150 Alpha Ave., Burnaby, B.C. from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
